⇒ Summer School offerings from LAUSD can be found here
⇒ Spectrum/Charter will provide free internet for homes of students for 60 days. Call 1-844-488-8395. Installation fees will be waived for new student households.
⇒ LAUSD also launched a phone hotline for students and families where they can talk to counselors and mental health professionals. The hotline is open Monday through Friday from 6am to 6pm and the number is 213-241-3840.
⇒ If you are in foster care, or ever were, and you need a laptop for remote learning, please email info@onesimplewish.org.
⇒ If you are or know of a foster youth that is staying at a college dorm room that is going to be closed due to the coronavirus, please email info@togetherwerise.org and they will provide or help you find housing during this transition.
⇒ LA County Library is offering temporary library cards. In an effort to make access to all of the Library’s digital resources more easily available to Los Angeles County residents, including those who do not currently have a library card, LA County Library is offering a temporary digital card, valid for 90 days. ⇒ Every Table is offering help to those in need! If you are in need of a meal, call their helpline at (323) 458-6487
⇒ CultivaLA has a produce distribution every Thursday at the Westlake Community Garden, 599 Columbia Avenue, LA, CA 90017. It starts at 12:00pm for Seniors and 12:30pm for general. First come, first served basis.
⇒ Los Angeles CCNP has a food bank every Thursday at 9am to 1pm or while supplies last. One bag per household. There will be two lines starting on Bixel Street, one dedicated to seniors 65+ and a second line for ages 14-64.
⇒ The Karsh Center‘s Food Pantry is open from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Sundays.

⇒ For seniors in need of food, please contact the Los Angeles Department of Aging at 213-482-7252. The Department of Aging is reachable Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Fridays from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

⇒ Through a partnership with @ForEveryTable and @AccessServiceLA, seniors can have healthy meals delivered to their homes. Angelenos ages 60 and older who are not currently participating in other meal programs can call 213-263-5226 between 9 am- 5 pm to participate.

The Los Angeles Emergency Rental Assistance Subsidy Program will provide a temporary rent subsidy for tenants who live in the City of Los Angeles and are unable to pay rent due to circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible tenants are those whose household income is at or below 80% of the Area Median Income, which is $83,500 for a family of 4. The rent subsidy will be paid directly to the tenant’s landlord on the tenant’s behalf.

⇒ CA has waived the 1 week waiting period for those unemployed or disabled as a result of COVID-19. If a medical professional says you’re unable to work, if your hours have been reduced, or your employer has shut down — you can file a claim.
⇒ If your child’s school is closed, and you have to miss work to be there for them, you may be eligible for Unemployment Insurance benefits. Eligibility considerations include if you have no other care options and if you are unable to continue working your normal hours remotely. File an Unemployment Insurance claim and EDD representatives will decide if you are eligible.
